지난 9일 배우 한예지가 개인 SNS를 통해 유기견 입양 캠페인에 참여 소식을 알렸습니다.
배우 한예지가 참석한 유기견 입양 캠페인은 '오보이매거진'에서 진행 하는 캠페인 입니다.
오보이매거진은 2009년에 창간한 패션 잡지사로, 지구의 미래와 동물과의 공존에 대해 얘기를 하고 있습니다.
또한 2016년에는 오보이센터의 문을 열며 타임레스 디자인, 친환경 제품 등 다양한 행사화 교육을 진행하며 소통하고 있습니다.
이날 한예지는 오보이매거진과 함께하여 캠페인을 참여하고 인터뷰 시간을 가졌습니다.
"저는 어릴 때부터 강아지랑 함께 살았어요. 우유 주머니에 넣어서 버려진 걸 동생이 데리고 온 아이였습니다.
그 후로 버려진 동물에 대한 생각을 계속하다가 성인이 되고 독립을 하면서 입양을 해야겠다고 마음을 먹고 포인핸드를 통해 아이를 보러 갔어요.
그렇게 첫째 ' 치즈'를 데려오게 됐는데, 겁도 많고 사람을 무서워하다가 저한 테 차차 마음의 문을 열어 주고 활발해진 치즈를 보니 유기 동물에 대한 관심이 더 커진 것 같아요.
이후에 보호소에도 가게 되고 자연스럽게 여러 상황을 마주하게 됐습니다. 저도 처음에는 굉장히 어렵게 생각했어요.
내가 거기에서 할 수 있는 일이 있을까 하는 걱정도 했는데. 일손은 항상 모자란 게 현실입니다.
잠깐이지만 산책을 할 수도 있고 밥을 줄 수도 있고요. 또 사람을 만나고 어울리는 게 별것 아닌 것 같아도 아이들한테 중요한 시간이라는 걸 알게 되니까 계속 이어가게 돼요.
마음은 있는데 망설이는 사람들한테 '일단 가자'고 하면서 같이 다니고 있어요. 펫숍에서 사지 않고 유기견을 입양하는 건 정말 중요한 일입니다.
가족을 맞는다는 건 무겁고 신중하게 고민해야 하는 것이지만. 유기견이라고 해서 또 따로 크게 고민할 필요도 없다고 봐요.
저는 믹스견과 품종견에 대한 인식 차이도 크다고 생각하 는데 입양 홍보를 하다 보니까 믹스견 아이들은 입양 문의가 정 말 없더라고요.
그것 또한 다르지 않고. 내가 정말 평생을 책임지겠다는 마음만 있다면 어려운 일이 아니라고 생각합니다."

"I've lived with dogs since I was little. The first one was an abandoned puppy that my brother brought home, left in a milk pouch. After that, I kept thinking about abandoned animals, and when I became an adult and moved out on my own, I decided to adopt. I went to see a dog through Pawinhand. That's how I brought home my first dog, 'Cheese.' She was timid and afraid of people, but as she slowly opened her heart to me and became more active, my interest in abandoned animals grew even bigger.
Later, I started going to shelters and naturally encountered various situations. At first, I thought it would be really difficult. I was worried if there was anything I could do there, but the reality is that they always need more help. You can go for a short walk or give them food. Also, I realized that meeting and interacting with people, though it might not seem like a big deal, is an important time for the dogs, so I keep going back. I'm taking people with me who want to help but are hesitant, telling them, 'Let's just go.'
It's so important to adopt a stray instead of buying one from a pet shop. Welcoming a family member is a serious decision that needs careful thought, but I don't think you need to overthink it just because it's a stray. I also think there's a big difference in perception between mixed breeds and purebreds. While doing adoption promotions, I found that there were almost no adoption inquiries for the mixed-breed dogs. I don't think there's a difference. I believe it's not a difficult thing to do as long as you are committed to taking care of them for their entire life."
