The short independent film <Thistle Love>, starring actor Lee Chan-hee, has been selected for the competition section of the 21st Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival.
The Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival, Korea's only genre-focused short film festival, which began in 2002 and has opened up new horizons in the domestic short film scene by highlighting a variety of genres like social drama, comedy, action thriller, melodrama, and horror fantasy, has returned with a new look after a four-year hiatus.
A total of 1,891 films were submitted, and <Thistle Love>, starring actor Lee Chan-hee, was included in the 65 films selected for screening.
<Thistle Love> is a black comedy fantasy film that follows 'Ma-du', a woman with a strange desire and a sexual impulse towards thistle flowers. One day, a mysterious man named 'Jae-i' visits her lonely inn on the outskirts, and she feels that he might be able to lift her terrible curse.
The character 'Jae-i', played by actor Lee Chan-hee, introduces himself as a stage actor. He begins to practice a play with 'Ma-du', who has been living a life suppressed by her abusive husband, and proceeds to shake her to the core before disappearing. He is a character who appears nice on the surface but is mysterious and has a psychopathic side.
The 21st Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival, returning after four years with a diverse and rich selection of films, can be experienced at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall from Thursday, October 16 to Monday, October 20, 2025.

어느 날 그녀가 운영하고 있는 변두리 외딴 여인숙에 낯선 남자 '재이'가 찾아오고,
그녀의 끔찍한 저주를 풀어줄 것 같다고 느끼게 되며 그려지는
블랙코미디 판타지 영화 입니다.
이찬희 배우가 맡은 '재이' 역은
자신을 연극배우라고 소개하며 여인숙에 찾아온 인물로
폭력적인 남편에게 억눌려 살아온 '마두'와 같이 연극 연습을 하게 되고,
그녀의 마음을 흔들어놓고 사라져버립니다.
겉으로는 나이스해 보이지만
