The film <Hyeongju, the Math Prodigy> is a warm-hearted coming-of-age drama about a 16-year-old boy who is clumsy at everything except math, as he solves the unknown equation of life with the help of the adults around him.
After Hyeongju finds out that Min-gyu, whom he thought was his father, is not his biological parent, he sets out to find potential biological father candidates. He is joined by Ji-su, an aspiring photographer whom he meets by chance, and the budding youthful romance between the two adds to the excitement.
Here, actor Shin Gi-hwan plays the role of Hyeongju's mother, Gyeong-hee. Gyeong-hee, who worked as a band vocalist, dies after giving birth to Hyeongju due to an inherited kidney disease.
