국립극단이 기획, 제작한 <조씨고아, 복수의 씨앗>은 '동양의 햄릿'이라 불리는 중국의 고전 '조씨고아'를
새롭게 재해석한 연극으로, 중국 고전의 보편적 주제인 신의와 복수, 이후의 허망함을 희극과 비극이 자유롭게
오가는 특유의 스타일로 풀어냈습니다.

<조씨고아, 복수의 씨앗>은 2015년 처음 무대에 오르고 바로 같은 해에 동아연극상을 비롯해
대한민국연극대상, 올해의 연극 베스트3, 올해의 공연 베스트7 등 연극계의 각종 상을 휩쓸었으며,
2019년 ‘국립극단에서 가장 보고 싶은 연극’ 설문에서 압도적인 1위를 차지하기도 했습니다.
이후 여러 차례 다시 무대에 오르면서 더욱 깊어진 여운과 무르익은 연기로 꾸준히 관객들의 사랑을
받아오고 있습니다.

[Lucky Monster Actors] Woo Jeong-won is giving a passionate performance in <The Orphan of Zhao, The Seed of Vengeance>.
Planned and produced by the National Theater Company of Korea, <The Orphan of Zhao, The Seed of Vengeance> is a new reinterpretation of the classic Chinese play 'The Orphan of Zhao,' often called 'The Hamlet of the East.' It tells the timeless story of loyalty, vengeance, and the emptiness that follows, presented in a unique style that freely moves between comedy and tragedy.
<The Orphan of Zhao, The Seed of Vengeance> first premiered in 2015 and swept numerous awards in the same year, including the Dong-A Theater Awards, the Korea Theater Awards, 'This Year's Top 3 Plays,' and 'This Year's Top 7 Performances.' In 2019, it was also voted as the 'Most Desired Play to See at the National Theater Company of Korea.' Since then, it has been consistently loved by audiences for its deepening emotions and mature acting through multiple revivals.
